Good books for bad times

The End of the World Reading Club meets once a month over on our Facebook page. You can catch up on the streams over on our Youtube channel afterwards, and access extra content there too.

The reading list (uk.bookshop.org/lists/end-of-the-world-reading-club) is made up of books we love that are linked in some way to the theme of this year's festival and we are always open to suggestions

Sunday 19th April Semiosis by Sue Burke

My friend got me this book for Christmas and I'd read it and the sequel before the end of January. A really fascinating tale, told brilliantly, and full of interesting ideas about nature, power and facing adversity that couldn't be more relevant to today

From the Publisher:  "Colonists from Earth wanted the perfect home, but they’ll have to survive on the one they found. They don’t realize another life form watches...and waits...

Only mutual communication can forge an alliance with the planet's sentient species and prove that humans are more than tools."

Plus there's a great website with more information here: https://semiosispax.com/

To find out more about why we've started an online book group, you can read about it on our blog
